About Us
Project Cafecito was founded by two technology and operations veterans, Soumit Salman Rahman and Daniel Oliver Vidaud. They combined their experience in engineering, cybersecurity, aerospace, operations, and organizational change to build focused, cost-conscious tools for independent professionals and small businesses.
Our Founders
Soumit Salman Rahman
An Asian-American computer engineer, Soumit is a pioneer in designing hyper-optimized large-scale computing infrastructures and advanced cybersecurity solutions. With a career spanning Microsoft, Dropbox, and Aurora Innovation, Soumit has held roles ranging from software engineer and product manager to head of security strategy and operations.
He has contributed to the inception of technologies including Azure, Surface Book, O365 Government Cloud, and autonomous trucks. His work combines cybersecurity, high-performance computing platforms, product thinking, and applied AI.
Daniel Oliver Vidaud
Daniel is a Cuban-American aerospace engineer, pilot, and polymath who has worked to improve corporate operations, integrated governance, organizational ergonomics, and strategic change implementation. He is known for identifying small, counter-intuitive changes within complex organizations that create durable returns at scale.
He began his career in research and product development as a propulsion aerodynamicist at Boeing, where he facilitated major cross-functional design and manufacturing integrations as lead project engineer for propulsion on the 777X airplane. He later founded a business focused on applying the same improvement patterns across domains including cybersecurity, food production, and digital marketing.
