Editorial and AI Policy

This policy applies to Espresso publications and other analysis published by Cafecito.

Cafecito distinguishes among third-party source material, automated enrichment and classifications, generated summaries or analysis, and human-authored opinion. Generated outputs can omit context, combine unrelated facts, or be inaccurate. A Cafecito publication is not a substitute for the canonical source.

Standards

Cafecito aims to:

• preserve source links and distinguish reported facts from analysis or opinion;
• verify material claims against available source material before making consequential assertions;
• treat allegations, disputed facts, personal information, and sensitive subjects carefully;
• avoid fabricated quotations or presenting generated text as a source quotation;
• label uncertainty and avoid overstating completeness or confidence; and
• review credible correction, retraction, and mistaken-identity requests.

Automated and human review may vary by product and output. Cafecito does not promise that every item receives human review. Do not rely on Cafecito material as financial, legal, medical, safety, or other professional advice, or as the sole basis for a consequential decision. Report concerns using the Corrections Policy.
