Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Strategic Implementation Advising, LLC, doing business as Project Cafecito (Cafecito, we, us, or our), handles personal information in connection with Cafecito websites, applications, APIs, MCP services, developer tools, support, and publications, including Beans and Espresso (collectively, the Services).
This policy does not govern an independent source, website, application, or service linked from or represented in Cafecito output.
Information we handle
Depending on the Service and how you use it, we may handle:
- Account and contact information: name, email address, organization, account identifiers, profile information, support messages, and communication preferences.
- API-key information: key names or descriptions, creation and revocation records, status, and account associations. Secret credentials should never be sent to support.
- Service activity: API requests, search queries, filters, submitted URLs, endpoints or tools used, timestamps, response status, usage volume, error information, diagnostics, and actions taken in a Cafecito application.
- Device and network information: IP address, browser or client type, user agent, operating system, referring page, and security signals.
- Cookies and local storage: essential session, authentication, security, and preference data where a Service requires it. Cafecito does not use this policy to authorize cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Support and rights-request information: communications, affected records or URLs, supporting information, and information reasonably needed to verify identity or authority.
- Public-source information: names, professional information, quotations, allegations, events, images, and other information appearing in public-information and publicly available sources/outlets.
- Generated and derived information: classifications, categories, entities, sentiment, scores, summaries, relationships, Events, Signals, and publication analysis created from available information.
Cafecito uses a changing catalog of public-information and publicly available sources/outlets. Source coverage, availability, and update timing vary.
Please do not place secrets, credentials, sensitive personal information, or confidential material in queries, submitted URLs, or support messages unless the applicable Service and agreement expressly support that use.
How we use information
We use information to provide, authenticate, meter, support, maintain, and improve the Services; process queries; create analytical attributes; publish Cafecito-created analysis; secure the Services; prevent abuse; respond to support, privacy, publisher, copyright, correction, and legal requests; maintain source provenance and restriction records; and comply with law.
We do not use public-source information to make decisions about a person’s eligibility for employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, health care, public benefits, or another legally significant opportunity.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers supporting authentication, hosting, infrastructure, security, communications, analytics, and customer support; to users when disclosure is inherent in requested output; to sources, rights holders, or complainants as needed to investigate a request; to professional advisers and insurers; in a corporate transaction; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and Service security.
Our policy is not to sell account information or API usage history for money or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because privacy-law definitions vary, Cafecito will evaluate whether a particular public-information activity requires additional notice, choice, or registration.
Free tier and future paid services
All Cafecito products are currently available as free tier. When paid services are introduced, applicable pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, refund, tax, and additional contract terms will be presented before purchase.
Cafecito does not currently collect payment-card or paid-subscription information for the Services. Before paid services are introduced, Cafecito will update this policy and applicable notices to describe the payment, billing, transaction, and subscription information involved.
Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Services, maintain accounts, meet applicable restrictions, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Retention depends on the information category, source restrictions, correction or removal status, security needs, and legal obligations.
We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless a legal hold or another obligation requires retention. We do not publish an exact period until that period has been verified for the relevant system and information category.
Public-source information, corrections, and removal
Public availability does not eliminate privacy, safety, accuracy, or reputational concerns. We evaluate requests involving incorrect attribution, sensitive personal information, doxxing, minors, source corrections or retractions, and legally valid deletion or restriction rights.
Removing information from Cafecito does not remove it from the original source. We may direct a requester to the source when only that source can correct the underlying material. See Publisher Requests and the Corrections Policy.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed for the nature of the information and Services. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may update available account information and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information associated with you. Available rights depend on your location and applicable law and may be subject to exceptions. We may verify your identity and authority before acting.
Use the contact page and include the subject Privacy Request. Do not use a public GitHub issue for a privacy request or confidential information; GitHub is reserved for public software bugs and feature feedback.
Children
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect account information directly from children under 13. Public-source material involving minors receives elevated review under the content-request process.
International use
Cafecito operates from the United States. If you use the Services from another jurisdiction, you are responsible for complying with laws applicable to your use. We will implement additional international mechanisms before representing compliance with a specific international regime.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Services, practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and update the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
